CMO Archers Queue for Medals in Kew
On Sunday 15th April, CMO sent a contingent of 20 archers and supporters to the Royal Richmond Pagoda Shoot 2018, held next to Kew Gardens in the shadow of the great tower.
This event is normally well-attended by CMO but this year was the first trial of a group event booking and the turnout was even higher. Our archers represented the club across all disciplines, shooting Albion and Windsor rounds but nobody was quite prepared for the medals haul that was to follow.
In the Windsor rounds, James Howell took second place in the gent's recurve in what was his first tournament. Jodie Taggart bagged the gold medal in the women's compound section on the same field.
Over on the Albion field, the medals kept on coming with both Yulia Larkins and Antony Wood winning the gold medal and trophies in the recurve section.
Elisa Ball just pipped our own Julie Beresford for the top spot in the women's barebow, with Maria Morozova taking gold in the junior barebow category.
André Labuschagne secured the bronze medal in the hotly contested men's compound rounds, and not to be outdone at the end of the filed, Jarad Tong took the trophy and gold medal in the gent's longbow category.
Among those who also had a great day shooting were Grant Beresford, Aron Cooney, Carl Johnson, Eric Chan, Steve Harris, Michael Hutton, Martin Walton and Mike Cale who was also a winner, bagging Pagoda the Panda in the raffle (see pic).
Congratulations to all the winners and well done CMO for a great team performance. Our thanks to hosts Royal Richmond Archery Club for another extremely well-organised shoot.
